My Thoughts:

 

 I’ll let her into my world if she’ll give me one little glimpse of hers. That’s all I ask for.

Heidi McLaughlin never fails when it comes to delivering a roller coaster, rock star romance :D! I was sucked into Harrison and Katelyn's story right from the first few sentences. Yeah, that is all it took for me to be a goner. I finished My Unexpected Forever in two days. The day I began reading it I stayed up until 2:30 a.m., which doesn't always happen unless the book really sucks me into the story. What do I love about Heidi McLaughlin's novels? She always gives the girl's POV and the guy's POV.  I personally loved reading from Harrison's POV :D!

“I don’t know what else to say. I shouldn’t have to sell myself to you. You either like me or you don’t. Thing is, you can’t lie, I know you feel something, you just have to let yourself believe I’m good enough to be a part of your life.” 

HARRISON FREAKING JAMES!!!!!!!! OMG- you will understand the exclamations points once you read My Unexpected Forever ;D!!! Where to began?!?! When I read about Harrison character (Forever My Girl) I thought he was just like any other rock star character I've read about, or similar to Liam. I was completely wrong! Harrison James turned out to be what I never expected his character to be- caring, protective, sensitive, passionate, deep, hot, and he is a man that knows what he wants in his life. I have to confuse that I feel in love with Harrison's character right from the beginning. Let's talk about his tats ;). His body is a freaking canvas with all of the tats he has, but each tattoo tells a story that make him the man he is. His character just has so many layers that have to be shed to understand the real Harrison. Once all of those layers come undone you get this amazing father figure, lover, family man, and a rock-star. Who wouldn't fall in love with Harrison?!?!?! Is he going to be added to my book boyfriend's book list? YES HE IS :D!!!

I would never date a man who is covered in tattoos, wears a beanie and shorts all the time. He’s the quintessential rocker and doesn’t fit my life.

I just want to clarify that I loved Katelyn's character in Forever My Girl. In My Unexpected Forever I just felt like slapping some sense into her. Really girl?!?!? I can't believe such words would fall out of your mouth of not falling in love with a guy covered in tattoos and what not. But I get it. She has always been the proper lady and is a mother figure to her girls. Katelyn has not been around or lived the rocker life, so it is obvious that it will take her time to get used to it. Plus, she had lost her husband and that takes time to move on from. So I might have felt like slapping some sense into Katelyn, but I still loved her character :).

She’s my own personal roller coaster, and right now I’m feeling a bit sick from the jerking back and forth.

I can’t continue to fight my feelings. It’s taking far too much effort on my part to deny what my body and heart are telling me.

Yes, I did find it fucked up that Katelyn was just being hot and cold with Harrison. She leads him on only to reject him the next day. If Harrison was a different man, he would have stopped pursuing her and gotten another girl. But this doesn't happen, because he loves her too much. I gave Katelyn a standing ovation when she decides to give Harrison and herself a try as a couple. I was kept at the edge of my seat waiting for this precise moment to happen in the book. Every time I thought that they were going to get together, Katelyn goes and tells Harrison that it was a mistake. But once they get together it is a freaking explosion. Yes, the first time they has sex was just hot. It was just a ticking boom that was ready to explode. Their relationship is not all about sex- but I can't deny that the sex was insanely hot and sweet every time-because they become a family.

I never thought I’d find him attractive with all this tattoos, but I do. They excite me, and each time we’re together, I learn something about one of them. He’s a story waiting to be told. 

My Unexpected Forever by Heidi McLaughlin has everything you would want to read in a rock star romance. There is lust, passion, love, tension, drinking, partying, rocking, motorcycles, sex, and with My Unexpected Forever you will have to expect the unexpected to happen! Heidi McLaughlin definitely delivered and has made My Unexpected Forever one of my favorite 2013 reads. I recommend everyone to buy and read My Unexpected Forever, because Harrison's and Katelyn's story is a must read.

 Swoon #1:

He kissed me with a passion I never knew existed. With a possession that almost scared me. The way his lips moved over mine--demanding and rough--promised he would own me when all was said and done.

 

Swoon #2:

"I thought fire fighters were supposed to put out fires, not make them," I said when he lifted his head.

    He smiled. "Get used to the heat, sweetheart, because this is one flame I'm never putting out."

 

Swoon #1:

“Want me to distract you?”
    “How on earth are you going to do that?”
    Harrison shrugs and turns his baseball cap around. His lips are on mine before I can take my next breath. As the car moves, jerking us back and forth, his tongue glides against mine in a relaxed state. My hand cups his cheek and my fingers play along his jaw, rubbing the scruff that has grown since his last shave.

Swoon #2:

He grinds against me, making it impossible for me to say no. My fingers seek out the buttons on his vest, then his shirt. I start at the bottom and work my way up. I throw his tie over his shoulder and unbutton the rest of his shirt. My lips are blazing a trail down his chest. I pull hard on his nipple ring just as he pushes up my dress and rips my panties off, the ones I bought especially for tonight.
    “I’ll go fast,” he says, dropping his pants.

Swoon #3:

He watches me. He takes stock in knowing that I’m coming undone by his touch. He pushes harder. My body slams against the wall. The way he keeps control, the way he keeps his rhythm, it’s like I’m the beat of his drum and he’s playing me with every ounce of energy he has.

Last weekend I went to The Naughty Mafia Rocks Las Vegas book signing event! I meet some of my favorite authors and got my books signed. Of course I had to buy some of the books they were selling like Stripped by Jasinda Wilder, Escaping Me by Elizabeth Lee, and Kim Karr gave me Connected for free :D! There were a ton of people at both signings (Saturday and Sunday) and the atmosphere was just insane! Can't wait to go to another book signing event :D!

All the authors were giving a lot of awesome swag! 

 

All the authors at the event were super nice :D! I need to find the rest of the pics I took (hopefully my phone didn't delete some pictures).

 

 

 Meeting Elizabeth Lee on Sunday just made my day. She recognized me and told me she liked my review of Escaping Me :D! She is one of my favorite authors, so I was super excited to meet her.

I also got to meet the wonderful and talented Emma Chase :D! 

I also got to meet Gail McHugh :D! Here line was one of the many longest lines on Saturday, but it was totally worth the wait.

The button popped open and I drew the zipper with its tiny multiple teeth down and down, opening my master’s trousers as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

Some part of me screamed inside the Perspex cage I built. Ranting and raging for true freedom, not phantom vacancy. But I muted the voice. I didn’t need it. It just complicated my already complicated life.

Q might be able to use me as he saw fit, but he’d never touch the most important part of me. That I saved for Brax. For my own survival. I’d opened the locked door again when I was free and not before.

Sighing, I relaxed for the first time since I’d been stolen. This was defense. I could see now how prey coped. Always living with the knowledge of pain or death. It didn’t matter. My body was dispensable. My soul was forever.
