Description from Goodreads:

I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.

I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.

And now I’m going back.

After ten years.

I hope I can explain that after all this time.

I still want her to be my forever girl.

*I had written this review three months ago, but I just found it today on my computer. So here is my review for Forever My Girl!

My Thoughts:

I ruined her life. That is what her voice message said. The one I've saved for the past ten years. The one I've transferred from phone to phone just so I could hear her voice when I'm at my lowest.

The book starts off great, even if it is not a happy beginning. Liam has left his old life behind in his hometown, but he has also left his heart. I seriously did not understand his actions, until further in the book I understand him. From the very beginning I loved Liam's character. He is a brokenhearted rock star who is trying to live a new life that is surrounded by fame and groupies. Although, Liam is not your typical rock star.

He took my heart with him when he shut the door.

I loved reading from Josie's POV, which is another thing I loved of Forever My Girl. I enjoy reading books that have both the main characters POV. Josie is really loving, caring, sweet, and just your typical girl who is trying to get over their heartbreak over a guy. She loved Liam with all of her heart and he broke her heart the moment he left her, but she just can't hate him or love anyone else.

For as long as I can remember, I've lived in a hotel.

Liam lives a very depressing life as a rock star. Before leaving his hometown and the love of his life, he had the almost perfect life (a few problems here and there). Now that he has become a rock star, it seems that his life has the opposite effect on him than other rockers. What rocker would live in  a hotel? From other books I've read with rock stars (not many, but a few) they have an over-the-top condo or house to go to when they are not on tour.

I can sense him; feel him moving across my skin like he's never left. When I open my eyes, he's staring at me. I remind myself that I need to be strong. I call the shots here.

Josie's and Liam's first encounter is emotionally intense. They still have a pull towards each other, but there are just too many things that prevent them from getting back together. One thing and the main thing is that Liam broke both of their hearts and damaged their relationship badly. Then there is the fact that Josie already has another relationship with a guy, Nick. The last thing I can not say or else I will ruin the story. You will just have to read it to find out :D!

Nick stops in front of me and grabs my arms, pinning me to the wall. I've never seen him like this before. This is a side of him that I don't like.

I hated Nick's character from the very beginning. He was just too possessive of Josie and he knew from the very beginning that she was still not over, and will never be over Liam. At the beginning of the story Josie describes him of being sweet, loving, and caring of her. But once Liam steps into the scene he turns into a whole different person. I just seriously could not stand his character.

In a few short minutes I'll be touching him and I may not want to stop.

My hands cup her face, pulling her closer. I kiss her full on lips. Lips I've missed for so long.

The love and attraction between Liam and Josie is too strong for them to stay away from each other. Josie may try her best to stay away from Liam, because she doesn't want to hurt Nick. But her heart belongs to Liam. The same happens with Liam. He may want to stay away from Josie, but all of his actions and thoughts bring him back to Josie. I really loved the romance between Liam and Josie. It is a sweet romance, but at the same time it is complicated

She just showed me what I've been missing all these years.

Heidi McLaughlin delivered an emotionally sweet romance. Forever My Girl is a story that will touch your heart and will leave it's imprint in your heart. This is the story of how two people can have a second chance in happiness, by forgetting about the mistakes in the past. Even if both their hearts were broken by one decision, they can be mended by each other.

Final Verdict: 4.5 Stars

Favorite Quotes:

My body sings a song and only he has the melody.

He's different, yet so much the same boy that I fell in love with all those years ago.
The boy I never stopped loving.

Josie tries to hide her elation but her face tells me everything I need to know; she's fantasized about being on the bike with me and I'm about to make her fantasy come true.

"He's an idiot." Liam throws his napkin down on the table. "If you were mine, that finger would not be bare, especially if you were visiting your ex-boyfriend."

"I watched for you and once I saw you, I knew I was going to end up chasing my girl, waiting for you to turn around and see..the real me and love me for who I am and not what I did to you."

He sets my hand on his chest, just over his heart and holds it there as his lips touch mine softly.
