Description from Goodreads:

Rook is chasing her dream—film school and a chance at a life beyond the one she ran from six months ago. But before she can become the girl she wants to be, she must deal with the girl she left behind.

Ronin is also chasing his dream—a family of his own and a life away from erotic modeling. And he too, has a past he’s trying to forget. A past that makes Rook question everything about their life together.

Lies, secrets, and shocking truths will rock the foundation Rook and Ronin have built. Can they put the past behind them and move forward together? Or is this just another too good to be true relationship that will crash and burn in the end?

My Thoughts:

"The journey back to myself."

Panic begins where Manic left off. Rook is still working for Spencer, but not as his canvas, she is working at the motorcycle shop as a receptionist. She has started school and her life is slowing down and finally falling into place.

In Panic we really see how much Rook has grown and matured from both Tragic and Manic. I'm not saying that she has overcome all of the tragedies she has suffered from her past, because she is still trying to overcome these in Panic. But she has finally accepted and embraced the second chance she has been given to live a normal happy life.  Now, all the questions I had about Rook's life and why she was so broken from the  beginning are revealed in Panic. By this I mean that we get to finally know what sort of life she lived with Jon back in Chicago. I have to say that I was not expecting this at all. This was a total jaw dropper for me. I even cried with and for Rook towards the end, because she has seriously come a long way. I loved the way J.A. Huss developed Rook's character throughout the series, which is why I freaking love Rook. Sure she was a tragic mess in Tragic, and an unreasonable girl in Manic, but in Tragic she has finally matured by accepting what happened to her and closing that chapter in her life.

I'm just observant, calculating, and I spent just as much time learning to turn off my emotions as I did turning them on.

Ronin is still the same old Ronin Flynn lol- charming, hot, sexy, thoughtful, protective, and total swoonage package. But I did have an OMG moment with another jaw dropper secret. In Manic we learn that Ronin Flynn shares a secret past that he doesn't want Rook to find out about. Sure I was surprised with that one in Manic, but in Panic we get the full story to his past! Yes, I was freaking out a little bit, because I thought J.A. Huss gave us all we needed to know about Ronin Flynn in Manic. I was wrong. There is more to Ronin Flynn that I never even imagined or thought about. I won't say much about this, but just be prepared to get to know Ronin Flynn in  a whole another level.

You're my life, Rook. You're my future, but I'm not in a rush, babe. I'm not. I can wait...

What about Rook and Ronins relationship? Ronin is still over-the-top committed to loving and waiting for Rook to catch up to him when it comes to their developing relationship. Yes, I did say developing because their relationship in Panic is still in the progress of becoming a full-term relationship. You ask why I love Ronin Flynn? This is one of the reasons why I feel for Ronin. What guy would be patient and committed in waiting for a girl to catch up to his speed in wanting to develop their relationship? Yup, not a lot of guys. Plus he is just sex on legs. I don't know how many times I had to fan myself with all the hot sex scenes in Panic. But I also love the sweet and thoughtful side of Ronin. He is always looking for a way to make Rook feel that she is the most important girl in the world :). I just love the way Rook and Ronin's relationship develops in Panic, because Rook just needed a guy like Ronin in her world to make her completely happy.

"I want to pull you into my chest right now and keep you for myself. Because, Rook, I just want you."

Now I just need to get something out of my chest. I know the die-hard Ronin fans are going to want to kill me when I say this, but I just have to do it. I loved Ford in Manic, and I feel even harder for his character in Panic! Ford helped Rook grow, mature, and develop to the girl she has become. Ronin also helped Rook in becoming the girl she always wanted to be with his love and support. But Ford helped Rook understand that she could grow by helping her accomplish her dreams, and he helped her in becoming a strong women.

Hurricane Rook is just picking up speed.

Panic is the conclusion to Rook and Ronin's story that we have all been waiting for! This is the ending to Rook and Ronin's roller-coaster journey you don't want to miss out on. J.A. Huss did not disappoint and delivered a perfect ending! I can see myself re-reading the Rook and Ronin Series, because these are character's you are going to miss reading about. I loved every word, every sentence, every page, every minute, and every hour of Panic by J.A. Huss. This book seriously gave me a Major Book Hangover!

Panic by J.A. Huss is going on my Favorite 2013 Reads list!

Final Verdict: 5 Stars

About the Author:

J. A. Huss likes to write new adult books that make you think and keep you guessing. Her favorite genre to read is space opera, but since practically no one reads those books, she writes new adult science fiction, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, urban fantasy, and books about Junco (who refuses to be saddled with a label).

She has an undergraduate degree in horses, (yes, really–Thank you, Colorado State University) and a master’s degree in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida. She used to have a job driving around Colorado doing pretty much nothing but shooting the breeze with farmers, but now she just writes, runs the New Adult Addiction and Clean Teen Reads Book Blogs, and runs an online science classroom for homeschoolers.
